Blanca Medina

My name is Blanca Medina de Ruíz, member number 2305 of Cooperativa Manduvira. I am pleased to share updates on this year's sugarcane renewal, for which I have received unwavering support from the cooperative since the beginning.

Manduvira has played a pivotal role because they provided me not only with sugarcane seeds but, they also provided me with machinery for soil preparation, and the application of fertilizers that significantly contributed to soil regeneration.

The technical assistance is continuous, for which I am deeply grateful. The cooperative's support has been significant in my transition to a producer member role in the family, which was previously held by my husband.

Additionally, I am the president of the Gender and Youth Committee at Cooperativa Manduvira, where we are strongly supporting women in rural areas. Recently, we were in the Regina Marecos and Juan de Mena areas, providing training to women. It's been a very good experience; we are growing together and supporting all women.

Fair Trade dignifies small farmers. Thanks to the cooperative’s dedication and Fair Trade support, we keep growing together.
